As a bunch of Havenites are getting together, I thought it would be a good idea for folks to offer up things they may want to sell, to people who will be attending. A virtual Flea Market, as it were. As these are things that will be handed over in person, items too awkward to ship could work well this way.

Let me know if anyone has any thoughts.

👍👍 I likes that noble idea! I've always wanted to rehome my fleas.

I don't have much that anyone would be interested in...? Mostly older mid-fi stuff I got when I had a larger house with cheaper systems in different rooms. Wouldn't even want much $$ for them since I just want to downsize so we can relocate with less hassle.

I do have an ancient Sony rear-projection HDTV that anyone can have for free. Good for a basement or garage. I hate to toss it as it still worked as of a few years ago. I might part with a pair of my Grafyx SP-10s. I also have some assorted Boston Acoustics speakers (a couple of center channels, A60s, A40s, etc.). A Hafler DH-110 that works. A few projects I won't have time to fix, like the Fisher 8-track, and a few dead Sony CD players and MDP-333 laserdisc player I'd give away. Anyone want a relic of a Pioneer laserdisc player, the LD-660? Gotcha covered. Might even part with the Teac reel deck since I want to get the Technics 1500 that can play 2- and 4-track. Also got dozens of used rekkids I'm wary of selling as they don't fit my fussy high standards, although those are good for trading at the local wrecka stow.

List in this thread?

Sure. List it here. I'll change the title.

I can go through my fleas stuff and make a list. Will probably take until next week as I'm in catch-up mode from a road trip/rally and way behind on work and other things around the house. Locals are welcome to take any of this stuff off my hands at any time. I'll wait to compile a decent list vs. trying to update it (unless we can still edit posts beyond a set time limit).

Honestly I'd rather sell things cheaply or even give them away to folks I know, vs. dealing with the local Craigslist and Marketplace flakes who would complain that "free" is too high of a price.

Interesting back story. The TV I have is a Sony 42-inch 16:9 rear projection TV that had issues where the optical block inside would overheat, killing one of the three LCD panels and tinting the picture yellow. I replaced the optical block in this one, as well as a 50-inch of the same series that I bought earlier. (The TVs were cheap to buy, and a company used to rebuild the optical blocks and sell them for about $90.) I "sold" the 50-inch. A lady from about 30 miles away drove all the way here to pick it up, and she was worried about scraping together the money to buy it. Once she got here (and realizing she really was living on a fixed income), I told her she could have it for free. To say she was grateful was an understatement. 😊 She texted me photos of her grandkids later that day, gathered around it watching cartoons. I think that was one of my favorite "sales" ever. And honestly, I really preferred giving it away--I just didn't want to deal with the typical Craiglist lowlife buyers/flippers, and it was just a token price anyways.

Dunlavy SC-IVs in Cherry - $1000
Polk Audio - LSi 9s in Cheery - $450
Thorens TD125 w/SME(Shure) 3009 - $650. Needs work. Rebuild? Shot of WD-40? Taken apart for a rebuild but then I got distracted. Squirrel!
Dynaco ST-70 - $475. Has Soundvalves driver board installed and comes with a VTA (Kegger designed) driver board.
*Not* Altec 604s. 15" Coaxial PAS drivers w/ Renkus Heinz HF drivers in homebrew Altec 620(?) cabinets and PAS TOC crossovers. $225. - I also have a pair of Urei crossovers and 4x15" woofers from a pair of Urei 815s.
And a couple of very heavy Yamaha Pro amps that probably need a recap.

Edit *** Pics and more information upon request.

I always wanted a M500t. Probably not good timing though.
And this one is tired--it could be a fun project for a basement or garage system once it's done. It should work OK (hasn't been plugged in since 2014) but really should be gone through to check/replace the caps. (If I do try it, I'll bring it up on a variac first.) I got it used in the mid 90s when another amp developed a noise in one channel. The Carver forum used to have a few DIY threads where there were details on which caps to replace and how to go about it.

Those meters are the coolest part of it.

Had a couple Carvers, M500T and a couple of the cubes. The lasted more than an afternoon, but no by much. Maybe it was a dampening factor thing, but did not sound good on the big Ohm I's.
No expectations that it would be great sounding. Just a fun amp with cool, big meters.

I thought it was one of the Carver Challenge amps but regardless, the "t" variation ("transfer function modification" it was called) supposedly came about because of the challenge. Supposed to copy the sound of an existing high-end amp. Thing is, that could only happen with a specially tuned prototype, and was impossible to achieve in production due to component tolerances being what they were.

Never had any issue driving speakers here, but I never owned anything exotic either. Basically just Advent-sized 2-ways. Funny that I retired it because it had a weird noise that came and went. A couple years later I discovered it was due to a poor ground in the family room electrical circuit that was causing all sorts of ground loop weirdness. (Basically someone had attempted to wire up three runs of Romex to one outlet, the incorrect way.)

It surprised me to see closed transactions on these for $600 and up. My price is a "best offer" deal but it amazes me that anyone would pay more than $350 for one of these.

I pulled my list for now, but largely due to being away from home in the near future and not having time this week or weekend to meet up and do a swap. But I'll be reposting it in the Emporium in a few weeks when I have time to add a few more items, as we are now under pressure to downsize and may have to relocate by the end of the year (recent development). I think I'm going to dump the Teac reel deck while I'm at it--using it once every two years isn't worth keeping it, and would rather save up for a Technics RS1500 or 1506 to replace it.
