Hi all. I have a JVC QL-A7 table that I'm trying to fix the CW droop caused by the rubber bushing deteriorating over time. I've read other threads but they were for the QL-7, not the QL-A7. I am at the point now where I have the CW removed, the old rubber removed and the brass shaft is just sticking out from the collar of the tonearm. The shaft is totally loose, able to rotate it and can go slightly in and out of the collar. The shaft is secured inside the collar with a philips screw and a washer. I've included a pic. My question to you is how to remove the collar? There are screws on both sides but they are pretty tight. I did'nt want to apply too much pressure. Has anyone here removed the collar or heard of a best way to remove it? By removing the collar I'll be able to remove the philips screw and washer, remove the shaft, put on a new rubber bushing or use silicone to secure and isolate the shaft. Any help or tips greatly appreciated. thanks.
