And “Cornerstone”; singular... trying to throw us off the scent?
Using it loosely and yes tried to throw everyone off (need to make the first clue tougher).:)
These are what would be the single most important part of the recipe (IMO) and a big thanks to @Tsingtao_1903 for manufacturing them, @UncleBingo for being a catalyst in more ways than one!
The 604E’s below for scale:

Now I can’t imagine the rest of the original parts are as easy to attain as these replicas, I will ask for thoughts on the following components:

Lows: 416 or 515? (Originals are unobtainable)
Highs: have 802D’s, there’s replica 801 Lansing’s, are they worth the try? 288’s are likely overkill...
Crossover: passive custom
Cabinets: debating on 9ply Baltic birch or more period correct CDX/ply, maybe basic birch?

I would tend to use baltic birch. Unless the cabinet _needs_ to resonate some, I try to make mine _not_ resonate. Plus it's nice to work with, finishes well, and can look fantastic.

802d are pretty nice. Barely different than the 8O2G to my ears.
CDX sucks to work with. I’d go at least maple or birch veneer ply. Baltic Birch will be much heavier, but it’s pretty nice to have void-free core.
288’s are the bomb, but if you don’t have the throats...

Got in the garage and let some dust fly. All but the back and inner baffle remain to be cut. Going to miter the panels together, because building cabinets isn’t hard enough.

I've built a few that way, it can be a ton of fun fitting the back panel into 4 beveled edges. Anything worth doing, is worth over-doing :D

Well I’m mitering all panels except the back, I figured it was overkill since it’s going to be removable and no one sees it normally.
