Lii Audio F-15

Any suggestion on a good source for “affordable”/inexpensive non-ferrous binding post tabs?

In planning to replace the ferrous posts on my Lii 15 drivers, I noted that many of the tabs I have from several different Parts Express kits are ferrous, the posts aren’t, but most of the tabs ARE. Doh...

A friend of mine built the OB's, he's a woodworker and first attempt at it... I'd say he did an amazing job. Solid walnut here. He's interested in doing more if anyone else is interested (PM me)

They are different sounding than the Omega Super Alnico's, but I've been playing around with positioning, which they sound different everywhere they are at... but this near field setup is pretty sweet.

Kray,

I would love to hear an update on the Lii 15's. Are they still in the system? Do they compare favorably to your Omega's? I would love to hear how they are settling in or if you moved them up the road.

Well my update is interesting...

They broke in nicely. couple of points:
- for me they need LOTS of open space, close to walls was not ideal, but place them in a big open room and they shine.
- I preferred to have them tilted up, I felt I was missing something with the centers being so much lower than ear height
- Omega's are special, there is just something special about Louis 6.5" AlNiCo driver that is hard to beat.

I ended up selling the Lii's because I was/am moving, and my new audio room is way too small for the Lii's. Not a long detailed update but that sums it up.

It's somewhat troubling to hear that two of our members have now sold their Lii 15's and moved on.
I have never heard the F-15's, but if they are anything like the F-12's that I sent back, they have a definite sound quality that it seems
will be loved or not. It surprises me to hear from the fellows at the controls at Lii Audio that they loved the classic Alnico vintage drivers so much, but their F series sounded so different to me than what I have experienced sound wise from the vintage Zenith's. My F-12's sounded hollow and cold to me. Definitely different sound tastes exist:)

I agree... I was so use to a Alnico driver, and just thought there was something missing in the F15, definitely not night and day, and if you never heard the Alnico the F15 would sound great. But YMMV
