Long time Audiophool but just joined this group

Been doing the stereo thing (morphing into home theater) since 1975 when I heard my first system while in Guam with the Navy. Many foolish $$$$ spent later and a very very understanding wife later I'm near my final system. I'm sure however there will be a few "upgrade" items I'll want but the big stuff is done. I've bought and sold more equipment than I care to think about but it's all been a wonderful trip.

I notice a bunch of names from another site or two so it's nice to see some familiarity herein. Some of you know that I travel alot throughout the midwest, south and southeast and am always available to pick up and deliver equipment to anyone that asks - for a six pack of beer though.

Occasionally, I host an audio get together in the KC area but this Covid crap has put a halt to that lately. Can't wait to get everyone together again. Old and new.

Currently running some Genesis 5.2 mains, a Genesis 700 center channel, a pair of Revel S206 rear surrounds and a pair of SVS SB3000 subwoofers. Source equipment is the Marantz 7701 pre/pro, Oppo 95 BluRay player, Music Hall 25.3 Dac with Sparko op amps, Cambridge Audio CXN V2 streamer, VPI Scout TT with the Benz Micro Ace HO cartridge. Power is a pair of PS Audio M700 amps, Bob Carver VTM 180 tube monoblocks, Class D Audio SDS-450 Special, Parasound HCA-750A and a PS Audio Power Plant Premier.

I think the most incredible thing about this hobby is the urge it has created within me to find new artists and new music.

Speakers in storage behind the wall - Genesis APM-1, Dahlquist DQ-10's with external crossover and subwoofer, Infinity Kappa 7.1 Series II, Infinity RS 6.

Welcome to the Haven. Love the speakers, matching black components and cabinet. I almost picked one up but was afraid the metal might rattle.

I was kinda concerned as well and thought I'd have to add some add'l magnets. With the carpet though didn't need to. Even moving the subs from the back of the room to the front. Of course, then, I bought some vibration dampening bases for the subs and the speakers and that deadened the sound too much. Have to re-REW the room now. Still haven't figured that thing out for sure yet. But the cabinet was the right price to just try it out and it's worked great. I added/installed a temperature controlled fan system with 4 fans but didn't need it either - but it looks cool!

Thanks @Tedrick. Those RSIIb's are one of those sets of speakers I wished I hadn't sold. Of course, them and the 4.5's! When this Covid thing gets cleared up one way or another I'll probably be driving by you shortly thereafter. Although I might sidetrack around that town as last time I was through there I ended up buying a pair of Genesis APM-1's.

Still using and enjoying those IIb's, as well. I've heard Genesis 5's before, and they're pretty awesome, too, and very lust-worthy :D.

Yes, very sweet setup! And welcome to The Haven!

Thanks for serving the U.S. of A.!

If you (or anyone on here) will be in Columbus, Ohio, please send me a pm. I'd love to meet up with anyone on here. :)
