Audionut

Next Round Is On Me
The list as it was:

@Audionut
@gavcnew
@mred
@TubeHiFiNut
@airdronian

Adding:

@JohnVF
@oldhand

Correct?

The Canucks will go last, just to keep from there being multiple border crossings.

All ok with this?
If it’s not too much trouble could you push me down the list two spots between @mred and @TubeHiFiNut ? My JBL‘s are out of commission due to a cabinet refinish and they are my current benchmark for all testing.
If push comes to shove I can slum it with LS3/5A’s. (First world problems)

Soooooooo... integrating the information reproduced above suggests to me that @gavcnew should be the next lucky recipient(?)
Any objections -- speak now (well... soon) or forever hold your peas ;)

'pears to be (see the chatter above); you're on the list, yes? :)

I will PM ye anon (ahem) for shipping information.
Had to cut the grass today (between rains... it's been a cool, wet spring in New England -- so far).

😎
I'll take your cool, wet spring and turn it, magically, into a tornado-ridden, flash floodin', hailin' and a wailin' spring.

Or maybe Texans should just start landing words with the proper "g" for each word.

I've set up some different things here for music, which should probably be tracker here anyways. Expect some photos in advance of the arrival of the Lounge phono pre of the current state of the setup.

This is actually exciting for me as I've been looking to change my current phono pre, a Musical Fidelity V-LPS, and this item doesn't break the bank.

I would like to be on the end of the list. Current temp system would not do it justice (maybe almost would) but would like to try it after spikkrs stuck back together. In St. Louis Missouri. Maybe after all the Canadians are done. I definitely don't want to cause any delay.

Btw how does everybody like it.

I've enjoyed my time with the Lounge and would like to pass it along to the next listener.

In a word, this item has put me at an impasse - how much more do I have to spend to really find an improvement? Given that I've lived in 'Doorway' territory for some time, is it finally time to go through that doorway and have some real skin-in-the-game? (My previous phono pre, the Musical Fidelity V-LPS with the V-PSU power supply might not spend much more time in my life.)

I feel like that's an excellent question to be left with and I can't thank this community and the generosity of @Prime Minister enough for leading me to it.

Enough from me. So, who's next?
@mred?

I am ok being next if its my turn.
Sounds like you are giving a positive review, that's awesome.
I may have to whip up a quick box with some octal sockets to use it with my 103 ( my ear clone have the sockets built in and zi use Altec step UPS.
I can always use the Tomar mm cart .
Cheers
Ed

@mred I'll send you a PM so I can get this to you.

All of my listening was done with a Tonar Diabilic - they make for a fantastic combination.

Very good that you have the Tonar also.
Looking forward to this and hoping it will surpass my ear clone.

I am just curious. Has anyone bought one or have the inclination to buy one after an audition? Has having the opportunity to demo the LCR put in on your list or removed it? Anyone willing to expand on their feelings and sentiment regarding the LCR?

If it upstages my ear clone I will mostlikely buy one.
I have been planning on building a lcr pre with iron from Dave Slagle. This would be cheaper and way easrier.

The ability to audition this has been beyond helpful for me as I have been asking myself for a little while now what a different phono preamp would mean in the context of my system. The phono preamplifier I currently have (a Musical Fidelity V-LPS) was one I'd purchased from a friend (actually, traded him a bottle of whiskey for it). That the Lounge, as the current lauded product, made it as one of the more attractive options, given that I haven't been sure what I'd have to spend in order to find meaningful improvements.

The most meaningful review I can offer is the conclusion I've been left with - there's no going back. Not that the Lounge is the item I must go with, just that I can't go back to listening as I was.

I appreciate that last reply very much. Because it would be a real downer if the end result hurts the company instead of helping. With the caveat that the product doesn’t sound like crap to begin with. These demos should in theory introduce folks to these products and hopefully spur interest if not a sale. Same thing with the cable demo that we had earlier. We should be honest with our reviews, but also be a help and not a hindrance.
