Well since we are on a Lounge review thread and since I own the Lounge MK3 and the Lounge MK3 upgraded to Gold minus having the headset jack and volume control in the short time that I've listened to both units going back and forth between songs/albums I must say the clarity of the Gold upgrade is much, much open and clearer. The voices come to life and so do the instruments like a trumpet and piano.
Now I realize this thread is for the Lounge MK3 standard review but I thought I'd share my thoughts for anyone interested in upgrading to Silver/Gold.
Now speaking solely on how the Lounge MK3 standard sounds I can say it is still a really nice unit. The voices are still clear and the instruments come at you but not as much as the Gold.
So... I ran the lounge audio with my Hana SL (mc) and was smitten. I know I was supposed to try an MM cart, but was so impressed in the difference between the lounge and my phono pre that no further testing was really needed. So, how goes the testing?
