Magnavox Astro Sonic Speakers not Working

I just bought a 65/66 Magnavox Astro Sonic console with receiver and record player (pictures attached). The only issue I’m finding is one set of the speakers (12-inch speaker and speaker horn) are not making any sound. The other set works fine.

What is a good way to trouble shoot the speakers not making sound? Is there a simple voltage check? Thought of swapping the speaker wires on the crossover board (which I think is the small board in the cabinet with the speaker controls on right side, viewed from back) to see if that does anything. The wire connectors are all super tight, won’t pull off, so have not tried that yet.

Would appreciate help figuring out if the speakers are bad, don’t want to buy replacements without testing first.

Do you have a hand-held meter to measure ohms? The simplest thing to do is measure across the two speaker leads to see if you have an open circuit (bad).

Do I need to remove the connectors to the speaker first, or just measure across the two top tabs (green and black wire inputs shown)?

Measured across attached leads. For the 12-inch speaker, placing my black probe on the black wire metal tab and the red probe on the green wire metal tab, I get 7.6 ohms.

For the speaker horn, I put the black probe on the black jumper wire coming in from the main speaker and the red probe on the gray wire, got 5.5 ohms.

Probably a failed output component of one channel on the receiver.
Yup -- unfortunately, probably upstream of the speaker. :(
One other possibility that's a bit more benign: perhaps the "function selector" (input selector) switch -- or other switch or control -- is "dirty" (oxidized) and needs to be cleaned. You (the OP, that is) might want to try fiddling with the controls and see if you might hear a spark of life in the "dead" channel. If so, your problem could be (fairly) trivial.
