This should be a very nice treasure hunt playlist. I groove on these things.

First of all, as usual with my treasure hunt playlists, please post up a playable link, so we all can listen and share. Some of us might even want to make a mix tape out of what is posted here.

This thread is to share very special cuts. Obviously, each artist, or group, has created a magnum opus (greatest work) for them. so, if you think a particular work, by a particular artist, or group, is their greatest work, share it here. In my opinion, for a work to qualify, it needs to be diverse in style, texture, and flavor, as the work proceeds. Such a work really needs to show that the artist, or group, has serious chops.

If your determination of "magnum opus" for an artist or group differs from that of someone else, that is just fine. Post yours. These are our "opinions," and, as such, can surely vary. Just know that these treasure hunt playlists do result in the discovery of previously unknown gems, with commensurate expansion of musical tastes. I have found that, frequently, a "best work" is not necessarily a "best known work." A best work, sometimes, turns out to be a seriously obscure work.

As usual, with my treasure hunt playlists, please listen to what has already been presented before offering up your own selections. That way, you get a sense of what is being sought.

Remember, as usual with my playlists, this is intended to be a playable playlist, so please make sure that your posts are playable. Also, this is not intended to be a discussion thread, so please keep that to a very dull roar.

Here is my first offering...

Elton John, "Madman Across the Water"

Enjoy,

In my opinion, this album is the magnum opus for this pair. It is hard to pick a greatest from it.

Loggins and Messina, "Be Free"

Little River Band, "It's A Long Way There"

Enjoy,
