Marantz 2230

Not a big fan of vintage solid state but I just got a Marantz 2230 receiver that I'm using in a streaming system and it sounds great! So much for preconceptions.

I have a Champagne 2230 that was restored by Randy Buckner for my daily driver in the office. It’s fantastic!

My best friend from high school had that very combination along with a Thorens TD125. We enjoyed listening to a lot of the music of the day on that stereo.

I am using mine with large Advents that were also free the day after a city wide garage sale day. The difference in engagement between this and the Aiyima I had been using is not small.

In 1975, I used some of my forklift driving money to (gulp!) buy a brand new 2230 from the local Lafeyette store. Had it hooked up to pairs of Speakerlab 3's and 4's. WOW! Never regretted buying it and still have it. Getting ready to have it overhauled, as we speak.
2270 for backup.
