I joined this forum about a week ago and posted my audio system and room setup. I ran across this site during a search for Marantz Model 9 mono-block amplifiers. I'm going to sell some of the components I have and will make a separate post for each. The first up is my Marantz Model 9 Mono-block amplifiers. A post on this forum a said "These are the holy grail of vintage amplifiers from the heyday of American audio. Every audiophile who appreciates the history of audio at one time has probably had these superlative tube amplifiers on their radar screen."
I have the amps for sale on US Audio Mart and this is my ad:
For Sale are a pair of Marantz Model 9 Mono-blocks Power Amplifiers.
I purchased the Amps from a Gentleman who found them hidden in the closet of a huge lakeside house he purchased. He initially used them, then had both Amps Re-Capped. (Please see the picture of the invoice). There are also a full complement of new tubes sourced from Marantz. The owner indicated he hardly used the amp and the new tubes have less than 100 hours on them. He used his surround sound receiver instead for convenience and flexibility.
The amps calibrates and all switches and knobs function properly. I did put the unit on and scope and all signals are correct. One Amp is missing the cage/cover so consider this before purchasing. The amps are more than 60 years old so there are signs of it's age. All text is legible. Cosmetically I would give the units a 7 out of 10 rating. This is an original Model 9, not a replica as it has speaker screw terminals. Both Amps do have the Face plate covers. I do not have the original shipping boxes.
I have a 100% feedback rating on E-bay so you will purchase from a reliable seller. If you’re interested in this item, you already know the output power rating in Ultra-linear mode is 70 Watts using dual Push/Pull EL34 power tubes. I measured an output power 44 Watts in Triode mode before any visible distortion with a 7.3-ohm load. This suggests to me that the Ultra-linear mode output exceeds 70 Watts. Local Demo is available upon request.
Any reasonable offer will be considered.
I will personally deliver the Amps FREE up to 500 miles from 53205, Milwaukee, WI.
