Master Tape Copies

Does anyone here have any copies of master tapes or safety or production copies??? I have a few and wondered if anyone else was into them?
That's 2 track @15 ips .....

ive heard a few, and they are simply astonishing. Always makes me wonder how the end product sounds so much worse. If the lottery kicks in, I’ll have a library of them!

They are not particularly easy to find (anymore), and expensive, and... there's a fair amount of fraud/misrepresentation of products along these lines.

Not to burst any bubbles, but it's a dog-eat-dog world out there -- don't be wearing Milk-Bone underwear.

The only time I’ve liked or even understood the appeal of Aja was in listening to it on a safety master tape copy. So good! Speaking of which I need to call a guy about a R2R.

I have a closet full of master tapes from projects I've been involved in over the years. Unfortunately they are all on a tape that sheds like a cat in summer. Periodically I've pulled one out, baked it gently and made a digital copy, though some of the tapes proved not even up to that. Mostly they're a decorative feature.

I did once hear a digital copy of Moody Blues 'Days of Future Passed' made from a master tape and it was absolutely incredible. Experiences like that really do make one wonder how the production process degrades things so incredibly badly!

I have this one and it is for sure the best version I have ever heard!!!

Used to have a lot. Made DSD128 copies and sold them. I still have a few.

I unfortunately got on the Tape bandwagon way too late. Enjoying the hidden gems that come my way though. But the pickings are slim and far from the cream of the crop.

Curious why would you make digital copies of all analog music?

Simple. I was selling them for good $$$ and wanted at least a high res copy. I also made tape copies as well. I still kept my favorites.

@jcmusic I have a small collection of 2-track 15 ips tapes. Mostly jazz recordings.
