MEADOWLARK AUDIO SHOP PICS

Crimony. I'm rocking Ibis and two Nightingale bass systems at this moment. It's astonishing. I can't even believe we can get to this level of performance. We've blown right past anything I've ever heard at ANY price, and by an obviously large margin. And the build cost is actually pretty darn modest.

For a while, with this approach, I was lost on the idea that I would build entry level stuff because we really could hit twice the performance in half the size for half the price. But, meh? It's nice but not exactly earth shaking. The all-out stuff is. Fun as all hell.

I’d like it to be a stylized interpretation of a JBL L100 speaker grill, but that doesn’t make sense cause... doesn’t look like porous foam, and who’d want green grills except me? :dunno Maybe a new speaker enclosure internal baffle?

Now I REALLY want to know what that green thing was... this morning, it wasn’t even a thing to me. 😂

A box of lime Peeps standing like little soldiers shoulder to shoulder? The practical use of that is a bit of a head scratcher.

Absorptive panel material, to line your cabinets?
Yep. Ya really want to knock down the backwave as much as you can. Heavy felt and Absorb-o-Block. Some nerd named the stuff; funny how you pick a name, offhand, for the CAD file, then it sticks.

The trick to cutting it is to not melt it onto the bit. So low speed, very high feed. It still takes all day.

The woodworkers among us know what a make-or-break operation that's especially tricky feels like. Just me, those have to happen first thing, post coffee.

Here's today's 8:00A process. Nightigale upper cab tapered chamfers 4" deep. Sliding table saws are nice. ;) ;) ;)

So that's how you make those chamfers.... Thank you for these candid peaks behind the curtain. Very educational.
