Yes, I can finally let the cat out of the bag. Pat McGinty just started building my new set of Meadowlark Kites. Pat and I thought it would be fun to let you guys follow the build process. As we are doing a couple of special things, I don't expect to be able to pick them up until late April.

Pat and I have been discussing these at length for at least six months, and after what must have been a painfully long sales process for him, I finally pulled the trigger a few weeks ago.

You guys will be able to follow along here as the build takes place. Strap yourself in for the creation of some cutting edge audio.

Looks like fun and really appreciate him/you allowing us to be part of the build process. What’s the sensitivity on the speakers, and I take it the veneering happens after they are assembled? Choices on veneer type and what you went with? Oh, also stands chosen.

No sensitivity on the speakers. They are self powered. And as such, they have no crossover. At all. Plus, the DSP built into the modules will allow me to tune the room out of the equation too. Some in one swell foop, we eliminate the two biggest issues that ruin the sound of speakers.

Pat had likely given me too much latitude on veneer and finish. :)

I'm going with something dark, with a dramatic grain, and a finish that will make it pop. I should know by tomorrow what veneer we will use.

Stands? Still working on that!
