MK1005B Horn Sled Project

One of the remaining little projects left to complete is to create a sled or cradle for the MK1005B horn and 288-8K drivers to rest on top of the Onken cabinets.

I've got a decent idea of how I'm going to put them together based on a combination of some different designs that I have seen. Since nothing is put together yet, I'm still open for suggestions!

Here are a few I’ve seen.

I'd agree that supporting the driver is very sage advice here.
That is a lot of load hanging of the back of the horn.

Why not do it economy style? Do the same as that board up front. Square cut the horn cradle. And, connect with all these all thread, nuts, washers etc.

Three points is enuf. This would also be cheap and easy to change the angle. Line those cradles with felt pad.🤗

Got a little time today to start tinkering with these. I glued the dowel points into the ends that the horn openings will rest on but haven’t cut those pieces down to size yet.

Laying things out on the floor just to see how it’s going to look. I’m thinking I will marry them together similarly to the last photo in the first post.

What do you guys think?
