This one came up on eBAY from the KEH Outlet and he reported that he couldn't resist it. :)

What is he shooting? I don't even think I could find a use for that but would love some (much smaller) Leica glass to adapt to my Fuji xPro-2.

For the world's shyest street photographer.
That is a brute! The longest thing I have is a 300 f4 and that is plenty for what I tend to shoot. For street photography if you got the eyeball in focus that is about that would be! My favourite lens for "remote" street photography is an ancient 200 f4 Nikkor. Light to carry, easy and quick to focus and it looks great on full frame digital. I never liked it that much on film, but it really has come into its own in the digital realm.

I haven't had a whole lot of Leitz glass over the years, but had a 50 f2 Summicron with my M3 and have one each for the Leicaflex SL and SL-2. I've had a ton of great 50mm lenses over the years including Zeiss, Schneider, Nikkor etc. but the Summicron has a "look" all its own. It isn't just about contrast and sharpness, but rather how the lens handles the mid-tones.

hmm... perhaps our son has a bipolar kinda thing goin' on?
He now seems to have swung the other direction...

As a mathematician, he is fairly well-organized. :)
(compared to me, he's both well-organized and swift!)

This Old Camera: Nikon Manual Focus F-Mount Lenses
...

I need to work on the swift part. A very nice, VERY fast Nikkor 58mm f/1.2 Noct was recently for sale here in the Seattle area for an exceptionally low price. And, as usual, while I was wondering how I might scrape the funds together, somebody else snatched it up.

edit: The ad appeared again, only this time it's a more pedestrian f/1.4. So it's not the Noct, and I didn't miss out, after all.

A 58 f1.2 Noct turned up here in town recently. Not many of them out there, though!
