New Phono preamp in the system

I’ve been running on the cheap for vinyl since Redboy dropped off a table for me use.

I’ve been using the Schiit Mani for a bit now with no complaints. Stumbled on a gentleman pretty much giving away his diy version of a hybrid grounded grid phono preamp. He even made the pcb’s.

Well all I can say is wow. A step up from the Mani in soundstage and dynamics. Time to do a little more analog listening I guess.

Here’s a few pictures.

That's a clean looking build, Gary! What tubes does it use? I might have some stuff for you to roll, if you get to that point.

I knew someone would ask and I'll say it now, I have no clue. I'll look at the schematics he sent and let you know.

Based on a September 9, 2007 article in Tube Cad Journal, using AD797 IC’s + EH 6922 tubes.

Nice!! One of my biggest audio regrets was selling a phono pre similar( build wise), to that but not nearly as pretty to look at from the outside!! Enjoy!!
