hey i DO think i might need a little fwend too (despite the name). could not fit the common aftermarket arm-lift (whose name is escaping me right now) on my plx-1000. but this little guy might just work. thanks for this post!!!

This rig is settling in nicely. The I'm starting to develop muscle memory for the more complicated series of movements now required to play records compared to the '1600, and I don't think it's going to be a big hairy deal to get down. Of course, the Fwend is the biggest part of that equation - I don't think I could do a manual table without an auto-lifter.

This system - I suspect particularly owing to the Supex cart - has had me re-thinking some of my basic assumptions about vinyl. For example, my feeling until recently was that although I usually preferred the sound of vinyl, I easily ceded any claims of absolute fidelity or accuracy to digital, and embraced the contradiction.

I'm now uncertain that there's any practical limitations to vinyl at all.
