Exactly how I approach listening to lots of cool stuff. :)
Yeah you never know, in that photo with the compact system. I got just the little Sony speakers that are on the stands first at the GW, they sounded awesome with mac driving them. So the next time I seen a little sony system at the GW I bought it, also in the photo. The speakers are very similar to the others but sounded like crap. I ended up giving that compact to a old lady for her counter top to have some music.

^^^ my kind of gratuity :)
I'm not often home when I get a decent mix of light to take a pic of the thing so I couldn't resist. I haven't really used the Audiocraft arm since I installed the EPA 250 and wanted to give it some play time. It really sounds lovely as well, just a touch more sweetness and meat on the bones - probably a bit more resonant, but who cares. It sounds good.

Completely gratuitous pic of the table making music today. Running the Audiocraft just for a change. It is sounding wonderful, especially with the new set of leads my tech made for me with Cardas mic cable. Huge difference from the 40 year old stock set.

What carts are you using for your dp80, fiddlefye? I’m in the market for a new cart for mine.
Thanks,
Ken

I have a Denon DL-304 on the EPA 250 and a Benz Gold retipped with a boron cantilever and microridge diamond on the AC-400C. I have an Audio Technica AT33ptg/II waiting in the wings and a OC-9 or two to go for re-tipping. The two carts currently seem to have worked out to be pretty much ideal for their chosen locations. The EPA is 14g eff.mass, the Audiocraft is considerably chunkier as the DL-304 struggled horribly there.

Nice! I want one of those headshells.
Mine is Audioquest, but it is identical to the Orsonic. Probably my favourite shell, actually. Mine came missing the lift and I mounted it without. Then when I got the EPA 250 it rather miraculously came with an Orsonic lift in the box. No shell, just the lift. I figured it meant the EPA was supposed to be mine all along. Next cart change I'll include the lift, but given how much work it is to set the arm up well I'm not going to undo some of that hard work just for a lift I don't really need. The cuing on the AC-400C is terrific, almost as good as on the EPA.
