I have the Audio-gd R2R 11, it's tube-like, almost, but not quite...just like the Nobsound NS02g/JLH1969 clone. The R2R 11 essentially made my Topping D30 and XS DAC01A redundant. Have to qualify that I don't do DSD/hi-rez, only up to 16/44.1kHz.

I have a vintage Adcom GDA-600 that I enjoy immensely - I've recapped the analog stage and power supply and replaced the op-amps, and may be replacing the CS8412 digital receiver with a CS8414 and the DF1700 filter with a DF1704 to support 96/24 inputs:
Count me in as a fan. I have lived with and upgraded three Audio Note (Kits and UK).
From my limited exposure to digital, NOS has been a real winner for me.
I have about 100 SACD's and have AB'd various SACD players vs the AN DAC's, and in general the low rez comes out on top.
All the SACD's are for sale now.
I have an un-assembled Abbas DAC. Bought dig board and power supply for $500(ebay). First impressions look promising, but I haven't listened to it yet.
Loved that Monarchy Audio 24... high on my list as best bang for the buck. Great piece of kit for the money!
I was torn between the French DAC you mentioned and the Abbas stuff. Never heard either and just went on interaweb research. Both look like giant killers... would love to AB them.

My M24 was slightly modded by Stephen Sank with some nice German tubes. Great piece for sure. There was also some LiteDAC kits on eBay that used nearly the same circuitry but they've all but stopped producing them. Shame

I lived w a Lite Dac for a while. It has the NOS charms but not the most dynamic piece. Easily improved upon by something with more of a power supply.
There is some good choices out there in the sub $500 range. I think it would take at least an Audio Note DAC 3.1 to better them... and those go for $3g plus (used).
Does anyone else have an ABBAS? They seem like a modders dream as far as rollling tubes, caps and resisters... which why I picked this over the French DAC3. Would love some thoughts on what to do with the power supply.
