I salvaged this I will call it "Champagne Edition" Garrard Lab 80 a while ago from an otherwise crappy old console. Saw the add for the console linger for some time but spied the good looking turntable in the photos and when the price for the entre console dropped to $50 I went and got it. Glad I did.
Of course there was no stand alone base/plinth so I have been looking for one since. Well, one came up recently with a tired and broken Lab80 sitting on it that would do. I cleaned up a few little dings and put a new finish on it and the combination really is something I think.
While I was looking for the base I had a local TT technician buddy go thru it and tune her up. I put the Shure M44-7 on it so I could use this as the table I use on unknown maybe rough vinyl. Now that she has come together I might want to re-think that. Or just sell her off.

Wow that looks practically unused!
What kind of console was this pulled from? I seem to recall seeing some with this color scheme in some Fisher consoles.

Packard Bell.
It was probably sitting in someones house and as they aged it never got used and was closed away under the lid. only work it needed was addressing old dry grease.

My Dad had that table for a time when I was a kid, the black version with walnut plinth, Shure cart on the darker colored arm. I never even knew there was a "Champaign Edition"!

Very pretty tables. I had one, but it was completely destroyed in the house fire. Sad, that...
