Onken Cabinet Build

Looking good M. Tell us about your room and other gear and such. Are you going with a stock crossover or a custom or MiniDSP or what. I have a loner MiniDSP if you want to play with it.

Pulled out the discussion about the crossover network and moved it to its own thread, here:

Small update, took care of some small odds and ends over the break. Basically, fixing a mistake I made previously that would have bothered me had I not.

I'm still WAY behind on these. Having both kids schooling at home, while working from home with my wife has sapped most of my enthusiasm for doing anything extra around the house. ;)

The Onken cabinet build is complete. The project as a whole is now to the point that I can start testing out different autoformer settings with (audiophile approved) clip leads to dial the crossovers in....

Btw, special thanks to @Audionut for helping me with the delicate business of getting the rear baffles in. As large as they are it was a bit tricky to say the least!

I know most people will never even attempt this build, but the fact that you did...and with 1 inch material, and a skilsaw no less; brings nothing but praise and admiration from me to you. Even with my years of woodwork experience, I don’t know that I would’ve attempted the same project.
If there is an award for “sticking to it”, then you would definitely win it!
Oh and these are even better looking in person people, not to mention that they might double as a fancy bunker shelter!
