The unloading of all-time great MM and MI cartridges continues.....

This one is an Ortofon M20FL Super, arguably Ortofon's best Moving Iron cartridge. This particular example is in really great condition, with minimal wear signs. I sent it off to Joseph Long when I acquired it, and he performed his usual magic on it, catapulting already stunning performance into the stratosphere. The original Ogura "fine line" stylus was at the end of its lifespan, so he replaced it with the incredible Fritz Geiger 2 diamond. It now exceeds all original specifications. Best with a light to medium mass tonearm, this will outperform many MC carts costing upwards of $1500. I'm sad to see it go, but I no longer have the time or the ability to switch between multiple great cartridges.

$300 takes it. I live in NYC, and local pick-up would be fine. But the price includes shipping to the lower 48 (discount of $12 if you come by to hear it first!).

Like all the cartridges and other equipment I'm selling, I do so reluctantly, but my health is not great, and I can no longer work with much of this stuff, so good homes are needed for what was at one point a world-class collection of MM and MI cartridges.

This cartridge is great, and the Fritz Geiger wasn’t cheap, but i do want to move it on. So i’ll entertain reasonable offers…

In case any of you are wondering what’s coming up, there’s an amazing Pickering XSV-3000, a killer NOS SAE 1000e (high-output MC), a B&O SP-12 with Joseph Long cantilever and stylus, one of my all time favorites the super rare and wonderful Audio Technica AT 24, in original nearly new condition, and a Shure Premier (M75) with Jico SAS/B (way better than it should be. Thanks Jico!!). But this Ortofon is special…;)

Are we getting in line? I might be interested in the AT-24....but I have SO many carts! Kinda sad I missed the Micro Acoustics.

Hi John, depending on what happens in a round of experiments with a newly rewired Infinity Black Widow, i may be putting at least one of the following in the mix: a B&O mmc2 with Joseph Long magic; a Grace F9e with JL magic, and an additional original “e” stylus; and an M-A 3002 w/ JL sapphire cantilever and Fritz Geiger 2 stylus….i need to find the one cart that will own that arm. The others go…;)

So there’s a chance for what has been my non-MC reference for the last 2 years!

I've had a couple of inquiries regarding the link, with some thinking that the image is all...please click on it, to see a video, and pics, as well as screen shots of Joseph's test of channel separation...

This is a truly great cartridge when in original form, but this one is even better with the Fritz Geiger 2 stylus (cantilever is an original from Ortofon). Joseph's work alone was $325, so I'm taking a loss to be able to place this cartridge in its next loving home...but make me an offer. The worst that can happen is I say no and this one stays with me. ;)
