I ordered a pair just for the fun of it. I've heard the b652 with a TPA3116D2. It's better than you would think. We'll see if the Airs are better.

And you may ask yourself, 'My g*d, what have I done?'...

;)

I'll have to look up what a TPA3116D2 is :p

oh! :) I thought it was a speaker driver. Derp.

Sort of along those lines, I am going to try these on the ACA again, too.

That was my thought, too -- but I wonder if that's 'cause I am an Amurrican.

Same. I believe you would say "I am an 'murrican", to be syntactically correct in the parlance of our modern memes.

Maybe that's just down here in Texas....

Either way, 6.5" would be my choice.

Good catch @Celt :)

Looks impressive.

Floorstanding tower with 2 x 6 inch woofers plus the AMT tweeter for $125 each.

88db efficient - should be OK with the majority of the Doorway amps we've been discussing.
Currently, it's $140.88 for a PAIR with FREE shipping! I have no need for them, but it is tempting...

You missed it, good doctor. The point was, one doesn't use the article 'an', when eliding to a consonant, as in "an 'murrican". Hence the use of quotes and the question mark.
Actually, I'm a Canajan, eh.
oh, yah :) I'm all over that stuff.

So -- having learned that modern day "bookshelf" speakers are apparently not designed for use on bookshelves -- but rather on stands, I've put the B652-AIR speakers back on line and I've been listening to them the last couple of days.
They're -- gasp -- connected to that questionable little "25 watt" Monoprice hybrid amplifier thingy.

Full disclosure -- right this moment, they're sitting astride the ELACs :) Not quite high enough, but it works.

They sound much better than I'd been giving them credit for. Very listenable. Very.

Still not liking the ELACs?

I still haven't had enough time to get to know them other than that awkward awakening the next morning..... ;)

Oh, I thought I updated that too!
ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2 - an ongoing "review"

Once I got them (the ELACs) up to the proper height (ultimately, I used a couple of "TV tables"!) they were pretty darned good. That's what prompted me to go back to the AIRs actually.

Listening to Sgt. Pepper's... on the latter as I type this and they're doing quite nicely. I am kind of surprised by the depth of the image and thir transparency. I mean, these were ca. $50 the pair, you know?!

Mine (B652-Air) arrived Monday. I let them play for a day non stop. They do image well and are rather transparent. I'm not sure of them yet. I'll have to try them again with the different input tubes I have for the amp.
