saw this darko april fools clip in another thread. and it got me to thinking about the effects of plants in listening rooms. seems like plants could have effects along the lines of room treatments. has anyone experienced the sonic effects of adding or subtracting plants from listening room? experimented with it?

a new frontier?

I admit to, yes, having had positive effects of adding a lot of plants around my stereo, especially when their placement seems to align with needed reflection control. But it could also be all in my head. Most apparent is in how my system sounds with and without a Christmas tree in the room (even though its fake).

I remember reading this somewhere, years ago. I have a black thumb. I don’t know how well a room full of dead plants works.

Not a nobody
After having a properly treated room now and having used big ferns and palms many years ago I will say I thought they were doing something to help but after treating the room like I wanted I realize the plants were not doing much at all. After treating the room over the last year the 20x22x8 room seems like its 30ft deep and 30ft wide and12 feet tall on many recordings now. It really was the biggest by far improvement I have made ever. I can really hear every change now. I could of saved a fortune over the years with all the gear I switched in and out of my system if I would of properly addressed the room from day one.
