Put your clothes on! A naked gear thread.

This 432 came to me as a basket case. Now it’s the most updated one on the planet. All restored to 2020 standards. Runs much cooler, all around better than its old self. Still need the rear panel handles though.

Opened up the 33-year-old Yamaha (RX-700U). A little visible evidence of some heat in the power supply section of the board, assuming it is the regulator. Going to give the old girl a thorough cleaning.

This is a test mule for the revised EWA M-50 model. It's only managing about 18W class A, and that much again in A/B due to a lack of proper heat sinks on this chassis. But it keeps doubling down as impedance halves, to one ohm (@279W).

She sounds utterly beguiling!

harman/kardon Citation fourteen FM Tuner

An old h/k FM tuner I picked up at the local thrift store. In fact, all three components, in the first photo, came in at the same time to the thrift store. And the day I bought them, the store had a 50% off sale on Audio & Visual, so each component was $30.
