It would be really interesting to see a list of the various transformers you've used over the years and the evolution of the implementation of them....I did some back o' the napkin math today and figured out that I have built about 100 SUTs with various vintage transformers in the past 10 years.
Of those:
- None have been returned as faulty. Testament to the quality of these old beauties.
- None have been returned for repair. I'm particularly happy about this.
- Only one was lost in transit, last seen in Kathmandu... Buyer was very patient, and fully refunded.

Hey cool! Nice writeup, @je2a3Congratulations to @Redboy for getting a shout-out in the latest JELabs Blog regarding his SUT builds.
HiFi Haven mentioned as well!

Fixed my usual bad typing. My fingers are clearly less than nimble (except somehow where a violin is involved).Numble? Are those nimble fingers that mumble?
The Microtran is fantastic! Lately I've been running it into the MM level input on the iPhono3 and combination is incredible. Still playing in combinations - always fun!I'm still counting the Microtrans SUT (@fiddlefye - I believe you have one as well) as one of the best bang-for-the-buck purchases I've ever made in equipment (the other two being two analogue items @JP sold me over the years). Still very much a happy customer, Nate!

That would be interesting! I have a Grado Sonata running into my C-4 in the living room system and it sounds pretty nice, but I think I'm maybe going to go back to a MC cart there again soon.I'm running my Microtran into the MM level input on my C4.
