So I decided to pick up a used REL T5i to try out. I have a RSL Speedwoofer 10s, which works perfectly fine but though I’d gain some room back with the small REL.

Im wondering if my REL is broken. I can’t get any noticeable bass out of it unless i turn the volume to max and turn the crossover up pretty high as well. I’ve tried the corner placement and as well as where my RSL has been (next to rack inside of left speaker) and it seems anemic.

Anyone have experience with the 5i? Do you get any noticeable bass out of it without the volume being up high on it? My RSL never exceeds 40% of volume.

Could just be a placement thing, the closer to a corner you put it the more corner loading and apparent bass response, also could be a phase issue and canceling with bass coming from your main speakers, if it has a phase switch you might experiment with both that and placement changes.

The placement thing is typically the real problem unless using some kind of room correction, most people don't have endless placement options, and especially when the practical placement options are few, that can be quite difficult to dial in.

I have one of those and have to turn the volume down or I have too much low end. Something doesn't jive here.
