Dear members!
With regard to the format of the drive that contains the AutoScript folder, I consulted the manuals of the different Sony players too in order to know what format(s) should theoretically do(es) the trick. It seems that at least for the newer models (S790, S6200, S7200, S6500, S6700 and probably others) even an NTSF formatted HDD seems to work fine.
I hooked a 1TB HDD formatted as is, i. e. NTSF, to my rip capable S6700 and the ripping based on the AutoRip method proceeded correctly without any glitch.
I will try the same thing with the other models I just mentioned.
If this information is of any help, please feel free to take advantage of it.
Kind regards from Switzerland, enjoy listening to your SACD ripped music!

Yes and for AutoRip in particular, use of the NTFS formatting is best as it removes the 4GB folder size limitation of FAT32.

Some SACDs with multichannel content will exceed the 4GB folder size limit of FAT32, resulting in truncation. So NTFS is best with AutoRip to get around that potential issue. All players brands I've tried so far are compatible with flash drives that are NTFS formatted.

With an Oppo player exFAT formatting also works, probably the Oppo clones too, but I haven't yet tested that.

This is probably due to repeated inserts of the USB flash drive. I would try again doing the following:

1. Power cycle (pull replace the AC cord) with the flash drive removed.
2. After machine fully reboots, insert the flash drive.
3. Tray opens, place disc in, close tray, Run rip.
4. Remove the flash drive at any time after the rip commences and leave it out.
5. When first disc is finished, open tray, replace the disc with a new one, close tray and Run another rip (do not reinsert the flash drive).

Only if the above does not work would you try it the other way around, i.e. by reinserting the flash drive again after each rip.
YES!!!!!!! We have lift off..... ripping right now whilst it's on. Thx heaps!!!!!!!!

There's one tricky SACD that doesn't want to play ball :D

I only have 21 SACDs so had around 6 done through autorip.....ISO then extract the DSF.

Now doing the rest via the gui straight to DSF.

There's this one SACD that doesn't want to autorip (ejects the CD soon after) and I've found doesn't want to do it through the GUI either (going to DONE pretty quickly). I've tried hard rebooting but still the same result. Extract output below (i've removed private info):

[RUNNING][C:\Users\\Downloads\SACD rip\sacd_extract.exe, -i, 192.191:2002, -s, -z, -2, -C, -o, :\Music\SACD]

Exporting CUE sheet [:\Music\SACD\Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Marc Albrecht, conductor - Brahms - Piano Quartet Op. 25, Orchestrated by Schönberg &.cue]
DSF output: :\Music\SACD\Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Marc Albrecht, conductor - Brahms - Piano Quartet Op. 25, Orchestrated by Schönberg &

Processing (d) [:\Music\SACD\Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Marc Albrecht, conductor - Brahms - Piano Quartet Op. 25, Orchestrated by Schönberg &\01 - Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Marc Albrecht, conductor - Johannes Brahms Piano Quartet Op. 25, Orchestrated by Arnold.dsf] (1/5)..

I think this is the old excessive file path length issue with Windows (but not Mac or Linux).

Please remove the sacd_extract.exe in your GUI program folder, and replace it with the one found here.

If its the old excessive path length issue, it will now be solved using this latest version of the binary by @EugenF .

So good Mikey, it's working. Thanks to everyone that has made all this possible!!!!! :dance

The list of contributors is long and dates back to 2011 or earlier, however the particular problem of discs authored with excessively long metadata (as in this instance) was only just solved through the development and testing efforts of @EugenF and @Srx in early August.

This was a long standing stubborn problem on the Windows platform, now solved. Huge enhancement for classical music lovers, as those discs can sometimes contain the Composer, Conductor, Orchestra, Work, and Piece names authored in the disc metadata. In the past if that metadata string caused the file path to exceed 260 characters, the rip would bomb on Windows machines. No more.

Love it, so appreciative of all the great work. I own my small collection of SACDs but this just makes it so easy to stream without losing quality. I've restarted my ripping with this new .exe and doing it through the GUI.

I've noticed that on some SACD rips, it gives a warning for the last track, mentioning the processed audioframes is smaller than number of frames in duration. And for these rips, the last track ends with a pop when played.

I have paddingless enabled.

Doesn't happen to all rips. And it's no biggie even for the ones that do, just wanted to share. I'm still super happy!

Howdy!

I like to report that the Marantz UD7007 works wonderful with your tools :-)

scsi 0:0:0:0: CD-ROM MTK 8550 6V0204 8550 0204 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5

One remark:
I still have the old software on the player that is able to play self burned SACDs.
Later versions of the SW did not allow that anymore.

Keep on doing your great work!
Thanks.

Greetings and welcome to HFH!

Thanks so much for this contribution, we had suspected the UD7007 was likely compatible ever since the confirmation last February on the Denon DBT-3313, but I believe you are the very first to report success with the Marantz.

Congratulations on that breaking news, I will add this model to the list of known working players!

Hello @markus22 - GREAT news there!

Have you only tried the remote rip (sacd_extract_6200) or AutoRip A3 as well?

Since the Linux kernel shows to be compiled for an armv7 processor, this player should rather feature a MT8580 chipset.
Would you mind searching the chipsetinfo.txt for the exact string "IC Version"?

I still have the old software on the player that is able to play self burned SACDs.
Later versions of the SW did not allow that anymore.
Do you know the last compatible firmware version? SACD-R playback info is always welcome. ;)

Thanks for adding the Sony BDP-A6000 - it's just an euro-model but top of the line back in its days.

Now if @Nexus3 might spill the secret sauce there, I'll be able to get off the edge of my seat!
Just lie back into it :beat - it only involved ....

1. Download the CLIENT sacd_extract v0.3.9.3-88 + Java GUI from videohelp
2. Get the REGULAR AutoScript for your Sony BD player
3. Turn on your player and plugin the USB flash memory - the tray should open up
4. Start the Java GUI in your PC and do some preliminary checks

4a. Checking the CLIENT executable - TEST button at the top right corner
4b. Enter your player's IP address and do a PING first and then a port TEST (button right next to the IP address & port)

If everything goes well you may put a SACD onto the tray and close it.

5. Hit the PLAY button wait a few seconds then hit STOP on your remote.
5a. Go the the settings menu - MUSIC and change the DSD layer from stereo <-> mch
5b. Don't leave the menu section

6. Hit RUN in your GUI - this should commence the remote ripping

Yes, I tested both versions and both work well!

Here it is:
IC Version: MT8580CDAG

Firmware is not shown in the setup. Do you know how to check it?

OK, found a way to check the SW version of both the Denon DBT-3313 AND the Marantz UD7007
The version of my Marantz is HQ 00009318

Thank you for this, I only have a universal remote for my 3313, unfortunately the original was not included in the sale on eBay.

The Setup button on my universal remote will not work, nor will Menu or any other candidate button. However just entering Setup mode via navigation from Home in the on-screen display, and then entering 3265 does work:

So looks like I have HQ 00009297.
