Rock and Roll Photos of the 60's and 70's

[Snade]

Jim Marshall was one of the greatest photographers of the early rock bands

He passed away in 2010, but his family / estate continues to post old film rolls of his work to his Facebook page.

Just FYI, if you use Facebook, you can search for him here. Some amazing shots of legendary bands of the era.

I miss the days when you could take a camera into concerts and shoot.
I had a lot of poster or album quality photos from the 70's and early 80's.
All lost to the fire that took my home in 2011.
Santana, Clapton, Ry Cooder, Heart, ZZ Top, Jeff Beck, and more.
I love old rock photos, thanks for sharing.

Here is one of his most famous shots that they posted earlier this month. Great stuff. Love the black and white.

Really sorry about the fire.

This has always been a favorite of mine. Tom Copi photographer.
Hard to beat this shot if you’re trying to describe in a single photograph what rock-n-roll is about. For me anyhow.

Another one at the top of my favorite rock photos. A spontaneous reaction from what I have read of frustration from a show not going well. That’s rock-n-roll.

The Iggy Pop and Paul Simonian photos are favorites. I was always partial to this one as well:

Saw this photo on Facebook today. It reminded me of all the time spent waiting for set changes at rock shows in the '70s.

I can almost hear that roadie now, 'Test 1-2-3, test 1-2-3, Can we have a bit more stage monitor, Test Test Test."
