Seriously folks

Yeah, racoon. A devious bunch with very capable hands. We had one rip the screens out of the chicken coop and grab dinner. A live trap got him deported.
Upon reflection -- given the evidence and the circumstances, I am postulating that the perp decided our smooth and (relatively) clean white porch wood looked like a fine place to wipe their hands clean. 🤦‍♂️
Yay.

Meanwhile, I just saw this posted in a "Vintage Audio Advertising" thread over at ASR
It struck me as a really odd ad.
1776980432397.webpThe product seems perfectly reasonable though. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised that someone here has one of these.
I could suggest some members, but perhaps that'd be imprudent.😬

That was kind and generous of you. I have a friend that makes dual use of his 20-gauge bird hunting gun on raccoons. No, thats not legal in Westchester County. Turkey vultures get rid of the evidence very quickly, blink and it's all gone.
I have resorted to that when I caught the crime in progress. Yup - happy vultures! 100% legal here.

My request upon my demise is to be put out my favorite flat rock for the vultures. 100% illegal.

Not sure what they expect people to do. It’s something that is widely ignored.
Pretty funny. You can trap nuisance animals but not relocate them. So the option is to kill them or make them a pet.

Yeah......now if we just make enough rules, we'll be perfect!

Hmmmm....I have this disc shaped metal object that they tell me is US currency......and it has, in large letters, a word that starting with the letter L that I just don't recognize. And there's a space in my dictionary where it might have been. Can anybody explain this to me?

Hmmmm… might the second letter in that word be an i?

I think the “L” stands for “Larry” the most follicly challenged of the Three Stooges …. but don’t quote me on on that.

I vaguely remember, as a school kid, reciting a poem each morning with that word in it. Too, I do know that at about the same time, I could buy things with with those discs. The one that said "Quarter Dollar" got you two doughnuts and a soft drink while sitting on a chrome swivel stool at the corner soda shop. In the deli next door, the one with the numeral 5 on it, whatever that is, one would fetch a big juicy pickle from a wooden barrel.

I know nobody believes me, so I guess I'll forget about that L word, everyone else has.

You forgot the third option... kill them, make them a pet, or eat them.
