The drive up through Jasper in Banff National Park,
I was probably six or seven years old the last time I went through there. My folks took pictures, but I have no idea which box they are stored in. I've wanted to take kiddo up that way but right now I don't have the time available to do the drive.

But a little closer to home, Antelope Island had some bison grazing near the road, and I managed to get a few good photos...

Was out in the yard with the pup and heard something fall and hit the ground with a thud and roll out from the arborvitaes. I guess they have cross-pollinated with the walnut tree in my yard.

A favorite res⭐ant in Springdale UT.

Two epic hikes (before I picked up my better half at the airport a couple of days later.

The first was to Corona Arch and Bowtie Arch, neither located in Arches National Park--these are off of UT-279 west of Moab. Here's Corona:

And Bowtie:

The next day was Tower Arch, located in a corner of Arches National Park. More strenuous due to a long climb up a sandy hill. Here's the arch, and the column in the distance behind the arch I guess is the "tower."

Jug Handle Arch is also outside the park, located along UT-279.

A restoration project we're working on. The interior finish work foreman noticed that the lower glass panel was bowing slightly and reckoned it needed the attention of a glass specialist. He took extra care extracting and transporting it, having been told it was worth in the neighborhood of 15K.

Funny, funny, funny - the glass guy made an offer of 130K, declaring it to be a rare, intact Tiffany. Nope, not for sale. Verrrrrrry carefully did it go back into its place.

Late summer on the Paint Creek Trail.
That answered my question--I was going to ask if that was the Paint Creek Trail. I haven't ridden on that in years. I used to park over by the Clinton River Trail, split off to follow the Riverwalk through Rochester, and continue on the Paint Creek Trail up to Lake Orion. It's a little easier coming back since the elevation drops the entire way from Lake Orion.

(At least it wasn't guns, like the stupidity I encountered along the Macomb Orchard Trail a few years ago. 🙄)

I shot this about eight years ago with my phone. It was after taking the Architecture Boat Tour in Chicago, right about sunset.

That is a great spot in Chicago at that time of day - iconic buildings on the right and left of the river.

We always wondered if anyone has ever backed their cars out of the sides of that circular garage on the right. 😁

Yea I’ve made that ride more than a few times but it’s been probably 3 or 4 years since I last did it. I’d usually reward myself with a couple of beers and an appetizer or soup at Rochester Mills brewery after the trip back.

I was happy just to get back to the car in one piece and make it home. 😁 I like the trail but it's too much time out of the day. About 40 minutes each way just to get to the trailhead.

It's interesting to follow the trails and see how they interconnect. I could start on the east end at Richmond and end up at Lake Erie Metropark (via the M-5 and I-275 Metro Trails), Dearborn (via the Hines Dr. trail), Lake Orion, South Lyon (or nearby Milford via Kensington Metropark), and if I continue past Lake Orion just a couple miles up M-24 to Oxford, I could get the Polly Ann Trail up to Imlay City (and possibly beyond).

For me to do Richmond to Lake Orion and back, it would be 72 miles round trip. I never could get to that point. I think my peak was 52 miles (Richmond to Rochester and back), and I'd done 44 miles a few times (my four Metropark run from Lower Huron Metropark to Lake Erie Metropark, with Willow and Oakwoods in between).

These days, I just drive. 😁

Garter snakes like hiding beneath the leaves, apparently. I scared the skin off of one of them in this area:

Closer to Romeo, where cattle graze.

The April Millsap garden near the grain mill in Armada. (She was murdered not far from here on the trail.)
