Not surprising you couldn't find it. I'd guess there must be some Bach cantatas to be found, but how much of an audience is there? Classical isn't much of a speciality of any of the streaming services. Having said that, probably 70% of my classical library on LP has never been released in any other format anyway.Try as I might, I am not finding that one in Tidal or Qobuz.
Still enjoying your moment of zen.
How many of your styluses would it wear out?Random calculation - if I listened to every LP in the house currently without a pause except to change sides it would take just over nine months to play them all. Scary thought...
The thought had occurred to me, definitely. I figure at least 20! My butt will be pretty worn out by then as well...How many of your styluses would it wear out?
It does make me rather question the sanity of anyone who has this many LPs. 😭How many of your styluses would it wear out?
Damn..........that makes my 900 hours kinda puny.Random calculation - if I listened to every LP in the house currently without a pause except to change sides it would take just over nine months to play them all. Scary thought...
Has anyone accused us of being sane lately?😁It does make me rather question the sanity of anyone who has this many LPs. 😭

I was figuring 48 minutes...So at ~40 minutes a record, that is lust less than 10,000 records?
Maybe you'll find something to rival this.Needless to say not nearly every one of these LPs will be staying. There is much sorting and organizing going on and then my own collection will get the same treatment. Boxes of LPs are not a lovely decorative feature.
Not usually... but I think a wall of record storage can be mighty attractive!Boxes of LPs are not a lovely decorative feature.
Not that I'm aware of so far, though there are some fairly rare recordings that Ive encountered so far.Maybe you'll find something to rival this.
Wayne Gretzky Rookie Card Sells For Record-Setting $3.75 Million
The same Gretzky card sold for $1.29 million less than six months ago.www.forbes.com
I'm sure that a wall of LPs also makes for good insulation! The problem here is coming up with more walls. We've a pretty good sized house, but it is mostly windows and not a lot of wall space. How many 110 year old houses have 70 windows? This one does and many of them are fairly large. As it stands, even before this last LP infestation I had a 4x4 Kallax and a 4' high built-in shelf that is 12' long and quite a few LPs left over. I need to build an addition. ;-)Not usually... but I think a wall of record storage can be mighty attractive!

In spite of my being a classical musician it would be too narrow a focus for me as well. A big part of the issue is how many earlier recordings have not been digitized at all. I understand why as it simply isn't economically sensible. This isn't to say that there aren't plenty of fine recordings of most repertoire from the digital age, but it does limit things nonetheless. In digging through this collection I'm finding not only performances, but repertoire I've never heard before, in many cases even heard of. The 50s-60s were an era in which recording classical repertoire was a huge movement and it is reflected in the vast array of LPs to be had. It really is staggering. There is Primephonic Classical Streaming for classical fans.
I demo'd it last year, but this is too narrow a focus for me.
