What? Do you think you know a better way?! Mind sharing with the class, mister speaker designer wizard guy?? Hmmmmm?? 😆So I'm guessing by the loops of packing tape, Nate, you are trying to resurrect the magic of the Linaeum driver, yes?
Very cute - I had that same black cat - he never touched my exposed 15inch woofers - but boy did he tear apart our couches. I really should have worked with him on the scratching post - he ended up being very trainable - I just didn't have the patience early on.Ten years too late! My speaker cones have the marks to prove it and my nearly-twelve year old’s still in time out.
This time, it's this little monster I’m worried about!

You just need to build a sacrificial tube amp (with cage) sitting in the corner for her to perch upon. Just have it hooked up to some nice resistive loads so you don't fry the OPTs.Yeah, this one's gonna be fun.
She weighs all of two pounds but within 30 minutes of being introduced to the family room (where my stereo sits), my son comes upstairs asking, "Dad, is it okay if the kitten sits on the spinny part of your record player?" 🤪
I always worried about my big tube mono blocks and the cat - at one time I had each amp sitting on my speakers - Rocky (1 black cat) left them alone - though he did climb onto my VPI turntable. He did like sleeping on my office Pioneer SX 650 (warm) - after a while it would crackle - I'd open it up - and lots of dust and cat hair - clean it up - back to working. You just need to build a sacrificial tube amp (with cage) sitting in the corner for her to perch upon. That's where the transformer stash is kept.I wonder how much junk he's got in that trunk.
