TEAC A-4010

Found this at a thrift store for $50, if I wait until senior day on Tuesday it will be $35. It powers up and the reels spin. I used to be an electronics tech in the 70s and could work on it but the case is rough and I wonder about the condition of the heads.

What do you think?20200530_134058.jpg

From the look of things I'd guess the bang on the case is not indicative of the condition of the rest. Any change you could just take off the head cover, tilt it back and have a look at the heads? I had that one for quite a few years, replaced it with a Revox A-77 and B-77. Like deck, though!

Thanks, I decided to pass on it. The rollers were VERY worn so I figured the heads were also and the case was a lot more beat up than what shows in the photo. I looked into new heads and it wouldn't be worth the trouble and expense.
