The Aircraft Thread

Gulf War return was in a commercial 747

Battalion Primary Staff and Commanders got to ride in the upper deck, wouldn’t let us have alcohol though.

When we landed in Frankfurt they let us open the top emergency hatch and we taxied we the battalion colors & Old Glory flying….

Flew many Flying Tigers 747s to Korea they put 5 seats where there were normally 3 :-)

Just returned from Europe on a 747

F4 pilots told me the platform was proof that if they put enough engine on a locomotive it would fly ;)

(Glenn L.) Martin Company (with factory located on Middle River just a bit east of Baltimore city) was responsible for some really interesting aircraft over the years.1731114510889.webp

I am sure I've mentioned this before here someplace... but I have a kind of cool book.

The book's covers are in fact in color -- my scans were monochrome (oops). :)

Flew on one of these once, as a kid. I think it was a Piedmont 4-O-4 -- if memory serves (it was a long time ago).
this is a random internet photo of an EAL 4-O-4, though. :)
