The JE Labs/ Angela SE 2A3 amplifier, revisited

I still like this idea, so... here we go! 😜

Well it's not quite robot-tidy, but I do like how these turned out. :)

When you put lots of holes in a straight line like this, it's easy to spot the "drift", even tiny fractions of it.

I spend way too much time on goofy stuff like this... and nobody's ever going to see it, on the bottom of the amp.

Nice work Nate. You'd need a straight edge it see any of those holes are off. Do you have holes on top for exaust?

You can tap the holes in the ears of those resistors for an even cleaner install. Looks great BTW.

See, they are very memorable. I priced them once at an industrial plumbing supply house and the guy told me they sell a lot of them because people steel them from buildings.

Now I understand.
Oh and nice drill work .

Thanks Dennis. I don't think this amp will need any extra holes on the top for "exhaust", though the tube socket is recessed in such a way that it will allow for a little airflow through the top of the chassis. With the tubes and transformers on top of and outside the chassis, these resistors are about the only things inside that might generate enough heat to need a bit more ventilation. Today's bit of drilling (108 holes, hah!!) ought to take care of that.

Yes. I put it in my system to see how it sounds and it never left so there are a few things I need to finish.

I just ordered a set of diamond bits and plan on drilling holes in the tops of the dishes for ventilation.

Where the white power cord is going through the base is where the grenade goes that houses the on/off switch.

Yup. You also were playing it during your last SMAC meet before you left town if I'm not mistaken.
