The RPM Challenge!

I have an SL1210 MK5 as well so my results should be similar to yours. A speed test with that table and my VPI Classic - (from playing two copies of the same record and switching back and forth with my preamp remote) - I found both tables were spot on - neither table leading nor falling behind. That is about as scientific as I care to get. Belt drive and DD at it its best - I love em both.

Interesting how the app graphs speed changes in a way that isn't actually happening.

Mitsubishi LT-30. Not sure how you calibrate the gyro but this is it just by using the app as-is. Don't make my turntable feel bad by pointing out that its slow. Also, its funny how much more I cared about this on my "main" turntable. With this I'm all "ok, that's fine."

Mine are fast - but at least the speed on both are the same which I found out by ear.

I now need to sell these abominations.

I remember doing this with my VPI classic and improving it somewhat, but I can't remember what I did. Probably involved greasing the bearing again and cleaning the edge of the platter and pulley.

No smart phone and so no app so no can participate, but I'm going to presume the DP-80 is running the same as it was when it came back from a complete rebuild a couple of years ago and still on spec. I'm sure none of my other tables are anywhere near the same level of accuracy.

If I had a phone I'd get the app and try it on the TD-125. It has had the control board relatively freshly rebuilt and a brand new belt, runs dead centre and incredibly steady on the strobe now, whereas before the rebuild and new belt it would shift a bit for awhile after start-up. Now it spins up more quickly and settles completely in a few seconds. What that means in terms of what the app measures I would be curious to know, but wow and flutter certainly aren't audible which I suppose is the main point in the end, right?

My Project Carbon Debut appeared to be running fast (33.5) but I'm not sure I was using the app correctly/maybe the gyro on my phone is located in a spot that makes it not work for the purpose? My phone is pretty big and the only way I could fit it on the platter the gyro seemed to be zooming around. I called it quits before I accidently sent my phone spinning into my tone arm...
