Supertweeters. Those look magnificent, and I’m sure they sound the same.
Curious though, what is that on top of the horns?
He ordered them for this project. He is a custom home builder and has the machines just no time right now but he will be able to do them once he catches a break and sets things up I'm sure.Tres bon.
Did the builder make the Yuichi horns or did you buy them elsewhere? (I've admired them for a long time, and I don't think I'm up to the challenge of building a pair myself.)
Those are oh-so-lovely!
Maybe I’m reading this wrong….but aren’t those a lot less (89db @ 1w) sensitive then your horns? How are you compensating?
Original woofers (414a) were to be no less than 99db says Altec. Yuichi wood horn with Altec (806a) are at 109db and the much nicer (orginal woofers were mint but one showed signs of rubbing so all were rebuilt including more robust voice coils than the tiny original) rebuilt woofers measure around 101db, custom xovers and mid/high L-pad adjuster dialed them in nicely. Less than half way opened up so far on the mid/highs and things are ...... well just glorious.Maybe I’m reading this wrong….but aren’t those a lot less (89db @ 1w) sensitive then your horns? That’s awesome. I’ve got 802’s and 414’s together in a 9849esque build as well. Lovely combination.Original woofers were 99db says Altec.
