This will GT 2000 lashes!!!

I think I was subliminally referencing the financial flogging.

Also, years of deciphering personalized plates has prepared me for this….
So the light bulb went off last night as I was equally perplexed as @Redboy (and I enjoy a good personalized license plate mystery as much as the next person). So this thread title is meant to read “This will get 2000 lashes” (and not the fake eye lashes I’m guessing either…you are thinking more of the self inflicted S&M variety(?):chin;)
Lovely table by the way!

You got it! Also, interestingly enough. The wife did not even notice the GT......until I spiffed it up. Go figure.

first impressions ? you know we need to know man :-)
From the moment I heard your own GT, I said to myself “This is an end game piece”.

Yeah, there is always going to be something out there to eclipse it, the new thing around the corner, but at what cost, what hassle, and what practical need?

The table is worthy the hype. A true classic.

But you know this.

Yes I do and I've been telling all who will listen ;-)

It's also an amazing place to test out lots of cartridges ...only takes a minute or two to swap and the mid mass and well damped arm seems to work with just about everything I have thrown at it.

Fwiw it has also posted some of the lowest w&f numbers as measured by a cell phone app.

The hype is real....

The first thing that comes at you is that this deck conveys Bass like no other. Like…damn… even with the arm not yet set anywhere near ideal or proper. I have been spinning a lot of my not played often anymore vinyl as I want to be sure it’s safe before trying anything hard to replace. That said, this deck and arm is really good. Currently has an Ortofon MC20 Supreme and I am really impressed with it. Not set up with anything but my eye and it’s like dead on. I also cleaned the arm and added the anti skate mod.

So how does this compare to other decks you’ve owned? Has it bested them all?

It’s too soon to be sure. It is also not set up properly so it would be an unfair process to give it a serious shake down and judge it as it sits now. That said, I spent hours last night mining my lower tiered records and enjoying some music that I have not truly played in a long time. To me at least, that speaks volumes about the deck and it’s abilities. If it can do that while not yet optimized for playback, I think it is safe to say that it has serious potential. This deck is no slouch by any stretch and I am finding it to be as good a deck at this stage as any of my higher end decks that I have owned.

So the FonoLab parts ordered where the wrong ones. So, after some sleuthing with the fine folks at FonoLab, the SAEC is stripped down and flying to the Czech Republic for a professional redo. Looking forward to seeing it done. Should look somewhere in the ballpark of this.

In the meantime, another arm is on its way to me and I am super stoked for it to arrive. The arm in question being an FR-14. Have not had an FR arm before, at least of my own. And I always wanted the 64 or 66. So cool things are going on here with the vinyl play back side of things. Between this project and the R2R deck, it’s been an analog summer!
