A whole bunch of talent on that stage and everyone leaving room for everyone else, not one 'Look at me NOW' moment.

Looks a little too "precious" to me. But that's not to take away from the music.A whole bunch of talent on that stage and everyone leaving room for everyone else, not one 'Look at me NOW' moment.
I want to expand my Americana collection. Not so interested in the more country stuff but liked the John Moreland, Cowboy Junkies Laura Marling, Iron and Wine Beast Epic (I just heard yesterday). I don't mind if they stray a little into country like Willie Nelson. Any suggestions?
Planning on picking up the Cowboy Junkies The Caution Horses and the Beast Epic album but am looking for some more suggestions.
I can't try a single track as I'm not into streaming. I have to go and buy the album .There's plenty of solid recommendations on this thread already.
Based upon your examples, I would reiterate the following: -

Try the opening track "Hometown Blues".

Try the title track "New Favorite".

Try the title track "Essence".

Try "Big Dipper".
If you can provide some more feedback, this will help as a guide...
Absolutely, this has been one of my go-to test albums for the last few years. "Frank's Theme," I mean, come on, what is that sound?Dynamite sonics!
How can one hate the Junkies? Loves me some Junkies.Moved on to a little harder edged stuff by the CJ.
The wife hates this so I play it LOUD. Like eating raw meat.
