The Haven provides a way to host images, and other media, so you do not have to use an external hosting site. This is the Haven's "Media" facility. You can create a purpose-specific media album, put your images or other media in there, and delete the album easily, if/when you wish. One use would be linking to the same image(s) in various Haven threads. Another use would be the facilitation of image posting in a Haven chat room. The following is a step-by-step process, for those unfamiliar with the Haven's "Media" facility.

Now. Let's create a personal Haven Media album, and upload an image into it. Then we will grab an image location for use in a post, a Haven chat room, or elsewhere.

Create a Haven Media album:
  1. At the top of most Haven pages is a top level selection of links. One of which is "Media." click that.
  2. On the left side of the page that presents is a collection of menu selections. Under "Albums," click "Your Albums."
  3. On the upper right, you will see a button labelled, "Add Media." Click that.
  4. In the presented popup window, click "Create Personal Album"
  5. In the "Create an Album" form that presents, fill in at least the "Album Title," and, in the "Can view media items:" field, select, "Registered Members" or some other selection, as desired.
  6. You will need to add some media to the album, before you can create and save it. See the next section for instructions (Add pics to your album, starting with #6 (Upload File)).
  7. Click the "Save" button. Your new album has now been created.

Add pics to your album:
  1. At the top of most Haven pages is a top level selection of links. One of which is "Media." click that.
  2. On the left side of the page that presents is a collection of menu selections. Under "Albums," click "Your Albums."
  3. On the upper right, you will see a button labelled, "Add Media." Click that.
  4. In the presented popup window, click "Add media to existing album."
  5. In the "Choose an album..." window that then presents, select your desired album
  6. To upload media from your device, click "Upload File."
  7. Navigate to the media file you wish to upload, and click "Open" on the file selection window. The file will upload. Wait until the upload completes.
  8. Fill in at least the "Title" field, and click "Save." Your image will have been added to your album.

Get the location (URL) of an image in a Media album:
  1. At the top of most Haven pages is a top level selection of links. One of which is "Media." click that.
  2. On the left side of the page that presents is a collection of menu selections. Under "Albums," click "Your Albums."
  3. In the window that presents, click the thumbnail image of the album you wish to enter.
  4. In the window that presents, you will see some thumbnail images of the pics in that album. Click the thumbnail image of the image you want to access.
  5. The full image will present in the window that presents. Right-click the image and select "Copy image link" The image URL will be copied to your clipboard. You may then easily post that link by pasting it where you desire. There are several other formats available (Twitter, Facebook, etc.).

To change the privacy settings for an existing Media album:
  1. At the top of most Haven pages is a top level selection of links. One of which is "Media." click that.
  2. On the left side of the page that presents is a collection of menu selections. Under "Albums," click "Your Albums."
  3. You will see your album(s) represented by thumbnail images. Click the thumbnail of the album you wish to modify.
  4. That should take you into your album, showing thumbnails of the pics in your album. On the right side, you should see a section labelled "Album Privacy." In the lower left of that box, you should see a link labelled "Change Privacy." Click that.
  5. In the pop-up window that presents, you should then see 2 fields, "View media in album" and "Add media to album." Change the permissions as you wish.
  6. Click the "Save" button. Your album permissions will be changed per your new settings.
Enjoy,
Rich P
