From my 1979 Telarc copy of the 1812...this warning letter was enclosed.
My old Rega 150 arm and AT-120 cartridge couldn't handle it and the arm would jump out of the groove every time.
Please note here that the AT-120 and Dual 506 with the ULM arm couldn't deal with the heavy modulations either.
My RB-330 arm and AT-OC-9 reproduced it in all it's splendor and without any incident.
A friend was over recently and was not familiar with this performance and was left in total awe. 😲

Needle Breaker!

Mine is marked as DG-10041. Note that while this is available on CD...it doesn't sound the same.
The digital recording. which predates CD by years, was not compatible with the CD Redbook standard...or something.

This is the same as mine, DG-10041. The SACD catalog number I have is "SACD-60541".

My DUAL 1229 with Soundsmith Otello tracks fine, as did a Shure M97xe. Iirc the table I bounced was my old DUAL 1257 with a ULM cart on it (don't remember which cart).

My current table is not my best and would be afraid to even try it without assuming expectations were ludicrous. I do enjoy my Telarc polycarbonates though. The ADS treat the recordings well.

I was so relieved to find out I can purchase MP3 of Telarc recordings via Amazon Music.

OK. I have a copy inbound (who knows when it will arrive). We'll see how either the Hana SL or the Denon DL103r handle it.

That’s the one I have: DG-10041 “Made in Germany”

(Every time I see the title of this thread, I assume there’s another squall line bearing down on Arkansas, or Dan had too much southern chili for lunch.)

I have one of these too! It’s pretty amazing. If you look closely enough you can actually see the cantilever, and sometimes even the whole headshell assembly, vibrating from the cannon blasts. Years ago, I had an Infinity Black Widow with my V15 V-MR mounted, and it tracked it very well. My AT OC9ML/II and VM540ML also track it very nicely on my SL-1200MK2.

I LOVE Telarcs. And I mostly mean CDs too but it a vinyl disc crossed my path I would prolly buy it too.
They did such a great job. Teldec too.

OK. I have a copy in my hands now. Let's just say that the Audiomods + Hana SL failed the cannon test, while the FR24 + Helikon Mono passed with flying colors.

(haven't tried the DL103r on the FR24 with this LP - will get around to that this week).
