Most excellent!
This is a great resource, it was setup by Arfa to build on the good work of mighty Mike Hanson:

I've been a huge Royd fan for years, they really set the joy into the music, one of the best loudspeakers when it comes to just 'letting the brakes off'.
The classic Royd model is the Minstrel, a speaker Joy Ackroyd says almost designed itself. It really has that 'jump factor'. A rarer, bookshelf version was called the Merlin, and it's even better! I don't think I'll ever be without a set of Minstrels, although to be fair I gave my last set to
@ColinWonfor .
Classic Royd have that 5 1/4" mid bass driver, usually doped with heavy goo as a kind of mechanical crossover. Joe favored modified 1st order crossovers, and he had a rig for doping drivers to his spec. He got it from Goodmans, where he originally worked.
The Edens and Sintras were also very special, a bit more grown up. Without doubt better speakers then the earlier ones, smoother too... But they may have lost something on the way.
The last hurrah was the Revelation range. I owned and loved the RR3 for many years. Without doubt the best Royd loudspeaker, but really needed a lot of power - preferably class A. I'll try and did some pics out one day.
Lovely to see Royd love on the forum!
