Cassette players came up as a topic on another board.

I've quite a bit of vintage audio kit. Some of it I use, but some I just like to know will work should I ever choose to use them.

This is nothing special, but it is an example of how well stuff used to be made compared some kit I've bought since and didn't last very long.

It's a cassette deck I bought in 1972 playing through Goodmans Havant speakers bought at the same time via a 1980 Leak 2000 tuner amp.

I guess the cassette would be nearly as old. I confess I did have to change the belts on the deck about 20 years ago.

I use cassette quite often as a way of archiving radio programs and the odd album....I use four A pioneer 449, A Pioneer 656 An Onkyo TA 20000 and an Onkyo TA 3700 ...I find the great sounding.

I always wondered what more there was to Grocer Jack and Sam....eventually RPM worked to find Mark Writz lost rock opera , much came from demos and obscure German releases along with a few very rare UK 45s. However when finally assembled , one can see what an awesome project this is , capturing the feel of the late 60s and pyschodila .......
