This thread is for posting up about your gift. If you don't want to let everybody know what you got, please, at least, let your Santa, and me, know that your gift arrived, by posting here. Thanks.
My Secret Santa, @Ernie, sent me a classy set of 4 Glencairn whiskey glasses. I did not even sign up for Secret Santa this year, but my benefactor, blessings be upon him, often thinks of me during this time of year, out of the pure goodness of his heart. He has seriously added to the whiskey imbibing experience in these parts. The glasses are here pictured with some of what they will be enjoyed: at least one representation of higher-end single malt from each of the Scottish whiskey producing regions, my favorite Jandrew briar bowl, a can of well-aged Dunhill Virginia pipe tobacco (factory aged for 3 years before being put away for 16 more years, and sent to me by another blessed Haven friend, @Leben a couple of years back), and my sweet vintage Pioneer audio rig.
Thanks Santa. My heart swells, that you would even think of me at all. Blessings be upon you and your beloved Linda, throughout the coming year.
Is that like a placemat for a table? Or one of those number-on-a-stick thingies they give you at a restaurant when you order at the counter before you sit down?
You are most welcome, Rich.
The only one that I haven't tried is the Speyside, Shieldaig. Do you have any tasting notes, or tips, since you know what I like?
IOW, will it be worth the pour?

I will try to find and take a look at my notes from the comparative tasting that @Jehen611 and I enjoyed one Saturday evening. We took a tour of Scotland, in single malts. It was a very detailed evening, sampling the nose and palate of all of these, with and without a splash of water. I, personally, need the comparative tasting for rendering detailed assessments, and it has been a while. I do know that I prefer a nice Oban (in a class of it own, but closer to the islands than any other region) or Lagavulin (my favorite Islay whiskey) to the Shieldaig (or any Speyside whiskey for that matter), but that is just me. Shieldiag is certainly good enough to be worth a nice pour. But, I think that your tastes and mine are pretty close. Let's just say that you and I would enjoy an evening or two, sharing what favorites we surely hold in common. I will see if I can find my notes, and will get back to you via PM.
Thank you. I look forward to your insights.
I hope the glasses bring additional enjoyment to your sipping.
Blessings upon you and the lovely Rebbetzin.
