What did you get from your Secret Santa?

I'm starting this thread, early, so that it is ready when folks start opening their gifts from their Secret Santa.

I don't know about all y'all, but I hate waiting.

Anyway, whether you wait to open yours, in keeping with your family tradition, or open it as soon as it arrives, please post up in this thread, so that your Secret Santa knows that your gift arrived safe and sound.

Not to pick nits, but wasn't that from "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!"?
😆

Good grief, you are correct, sir.

In my defense, it does get confusing at this time of year. One neighbor still has their Halloween decorations up, others have their Christmas lights glowing, and we have a flock of turkeys wandering the neighborhood.

Happy Holidaze.

I haven’t sent my gift yet. I took advice and didn’t try to order something from China, but my gamble on Japan seems to have paid off.

BTW, if you received a package, but are waiting to open it, please post that it has arrived. I'm fielding some requests from slightly worried Santas about whether their package has arrived.

Thanks, very much.

I received a package that I'm going to believe it was from my Secret Santa. It's the only gift under our sad tree. Wawa, wambulance. I wanted to open it but Kim said I couldn't because it was the only gift under the tree. I shrugged and threw my arms out. Yep, there's still no Altecs under my tree.

Back around the latter part of the first decade of this millennium, there was a tight group of online friends and fellow audio aficionados that was alive, and vibrant, and filled with camaraderie and fellowship. We even came together, in "meat-space," from all over the country a couple of times, and we had a hell of a time, and made even more and better memories, so that just made the friendship and camaraderie even more intense. This was a very important part of our lives...sharing and laughing with one another. Sadly, and for various reasons, in the passage of time, the group kind of dissolved into the aether, but it was certainly a great group while it existed. I miss it greatly. In fact, many of our dear friends have passed on from this mortal coil. Their memories will always be a blessing. Indeed, there are a few of us who are members of this very forum, so they surely know of what I am speaking.

This video brings back memories of those treasured days.

Back in my early days, after being invited to become a part of this group, one of the fellows made a bunch of these items and distributed them to many of the other members of the group. The item was designated the "Poo Stick 3000." Each was nicely fashioned out of some special kind of wood and expertly polished and finished. Ostensibly, these were intended to be used to remove various kinds of "poo" from our footwear, before entering our abodes, but I would bet dollars to doughnuts that none of them were ever used for this purpose, although, I am most certain. that each and every one of them would fit the bill quite nicely.

These "Poo Sticks" became a sort of token of membership in the group, but the distribution occurred just prior to my being invited to become a part of the group, so, even though I cried out in anguish, repeatedly, I never got one. However, one of the honored members of that once august group never forgot my lack of completeness, and, around the middle of Nov. of this year, that cherished friend of mine fashioned for me what he calls the "Poo Stick 3000 v.1.1," out of cherry wood, and polished it and finished it, and sent it to me...secret Santa that he is. The group that the token speaks of is defunct for over a decade now, but this poo stick has taken its place among my most treasured possessions, and has now been mounted amidst the components of my main audio rig, so that I might gaze upon it regularly...and remember. See if you can find it here...

Thank you Santa. You remain a beloved and cherished friend. Please be blessed this holiday season.

Enjoy,

Took a moment, but it's there in a place of honour.

Your story brought to mind a certain sliceless group. Ah, good memories!
