Crosley is putting out a decent turntable. Made in the Czech Republic...will be available in genuine Birch or Mahogany,
come with an Ortophon cartridge and retail for around $300.

Made in the Czech Republic, and it looks just like a Pro-Ject. What a strange coincidence! :)

Should actually be a nice table. Pro-Ject makes killer arms.

I didn't see that coming! What a great opportunity for Crosley to go upmarket with their brand.

Thats an interesting, and accurate, statement, Mike. Crosley is probably the only TT manufacturer who could go upmarket with a $300 turntable. :)

To me, the truly cool part about this is that Crosley seems to really have distribution down well. Their turntables seem to be everywhere. It will be nice that folks will actually have the option of a decent table through their Crosley dealer. Should do a lot for the hobby.

It looks exactly identical to the Project Debut except for the vinyl (veneer?) finish.

I think it's a great sign. I fully welcome the vinyl comeback regardless of who is listening and why...they're having fun and should at least have decent players available locally to buy.

That's great! I actually like the look of it better than the Project version.

... interesting times (as per the "ancient Chinese curse"), eh?
This Crosley-branded pro-ject, I mean, product ;-) might be the 'entry audiophile tt' that everybody (well, at least some folks) have been waiting/looking for.

It might be interesting, indeed :-)

I've heard the Project Debut on a few occasions and quite liked it - sounds decent, looks nice and I bet isn't going to carve up those valuable LPs like most things <$300.

Call it Crosley, Frank or Ted, it's a pretty nice table to get in on the ground-floor with.

Is that a proper Crosley provided photo? If so, and the manufacturing is to the quality standards of setting up the arm with the antiskate weight stuffed in the gap of the dust cover it will be just like some other new 300-400 dollar turntables that need to be updated as soon as they come out of the box.

Wow, I really dig the finish. That's a nice price, too. I haven't had a turntable setup yet, but it has been lingering in the back of the ol' noggin the last few years.

Looks nice and is priced well. This could actually be a good time to me to dip my toes into vinyl.

Hartge7 it's most likely OEM Project and exactly the same table just rebadged. That Czech factory makes a lot of turntables. Not just MusicHall and Project but some higher end models as well. But the picture is of a Debut with the Crosley badge on it. It's a partnership that makes sense. Project's knowledge/quality and Crosley's distribution. Crosley is in most of the big box stores including Target and I'm assuming Walmart. The biggest place I've seen Project is Urban Outfitters.

Need to position the table where it will be seen by the young vinylphiles and Urban Outfitters is a good place. The mainstream stores with Crosley are also good outlets. No reason to have legs other than for the short term, couple years, for the manufacturer to make money since the design and engineering has already been done, just stamp em out and let the cash roll in while it's hot.
