Why does the audio world embrace annoyance?

Our old stand was wheeled but ugly so we bought a nice looking wood one but - no wheels. So now we have to ugly it up for convenience. Why buy three TVs when you can buy one awesome TV and move it around? Also it can be a bit smaller when you can move it closer to you.
Our TV is affixed to the wall, but we’re also using that strange fiberoptic umbilical from time to time.
I don’t think of my main stereo as an A/V rig, and generally don’t use it while watching TV/movies/YouTube.
Sometimes it’s nice.
That’s often canceled out, though, by having to act as tech support when I forget to turn the TV’s internal sound back on/up after watching with the stereo.
Our fireplace is between my main system speakers and I don’t like the tv above the fireplace look. It’s too high. So the tripod comes in handy. Allows us to watch TV in any room, too, as we don’t use cable. It’s interesting how many problems went away when I disconnected cable news … but that’s another rant.

That actually looks quite nice. The wood legs tie in with the whole decor too.
Thanks. We have all this schmancy period-correct furniture and the $90 tv stand is what guests notice. I forget it’s kind of weird way to have a TV because I’m so used to it.
That’s actually quite reasonable, considering I paid about that much for my TV wall mount (which most people will never see).
My Dad had one as well for his Trinitron, though not until long after I'd left home. Classic! While I was home it was still an early 60s tube B&W set.
Makes me think of when my dad would set up the screen and get out the slide projector.

Hey, we have one of those nearly exact same carts! It's for TVs, eh? Ours lives unceremoniously under the baker's table, in our very rustic kitchen, loaded up with cake decorating stuff and our dehydrator.
Nothing is more conducive to a good nap, then a dark warm room, a roll out screen and a carousel full of someone’s vacation slide pictures. Having just finished a good meal adds to the effect.Makes me think of when my dad would set up the screen and get out the slide projector.

My liking if the idea maybe dates back to when I was in the AV club (shock). Teachers would sign out TVs and I’d wheel them from our AV room all over the school at a full jog. Im pretty by sure I ran a few kids over. It was more exciting when they signed out a 16mm projector as I’d get to miss class to show them how to thread it (this was the late 80s…dying tech).

Carousel? Fancy. We had one like this with the slide cartridges that you had to manually work the slide mechanism.
