Working from home system

If this topic is of no interest, feel free to ignore!

I carved out a bit of time to set up a system in my young-adult daughter's bedroom, aka my working-from-home-office. And now I'm taking a break to list it, on the off chance that it is of interest, and to perhaps spark others to discuss if they too have set up a temporary system.

Mine is all bits and pieces that are hanging around, sometimes getting switched in and out of other systems. (My next work break project will be to make a list of stuff I need to send along to others who need audio distractions!)

It starts with my work laptop - so far mostly streaming Amazon music on "HD" or "UltraHD", or WKCR (Columbia U's great station)
Khadas Tone Board DAC
Pass Korg Nutube B1 linestage - kit by diyAudio
Rawson clone of Aleph Jr class A power amp
Sequerra Pyramid Met 7 speakers
Counterpoint Clearfield Embassy subwoofer (apparently a VonSchweikert collaboration - anybody have any further info?)

What are YOU listening to when you're working from home?

Pete

(On top of amp: radio shack variable power supply to operate noisy 12v fans on 6v)

Already had a home office system. Marc Morin (bless him) AR XA is not hooked up right now (and LPs packed away). Sources: 1) my Lenovo laptop (Tidal, Roon) to a Khadas tone board and 2) Mitsu tuner. LDR preamp built by a friend. TPA3116 Amp (Audiobah "green board") with Astron linear power supply. Scored these single driver towers on CL; fostex drivers but I don't know the speaker design (any guesses?). I may sub in my Allo Volt D+ when I get bored enough.

Update: swapped in the Volt and added a sub!image.jpgimage.jpg

Well, at the moment I'm listening to KEXP via ZuneHD through my-still-work-in-progress Darling 1626 and a pair of holy basket Corals in ported Fostex-style boxes.

However, I also have my basement system to fall back upon (Raspberry Pi running MoOde, Technics SL10/EPS310mc, APT Holman preamp, Fisher 660A tube amp, Altec 604E drivers in cheap 4 cubic foot roadie boxes, and a Hsu Research VTF-2) if I need more oomph.

Mine is certainly not a new office system, as is working from home in general. I've been a full time WFH worker for ~7 years.

Pics are a bit out-dated now:

The system is:

Mac Mini 2014 (I think)
Xiang Sheng DAC 01A
TPA3116
KEF 103.2

or the DAC feeds:
First Watt B1 clone
Darling 1626
Fostex FE126en's in BK12 BLH's. Though I'm going to sell these soon.

I now have a sort of double work-from-home system. My main system resides in my office so it is always there and ready to go, but my desk faces in the opposite direction. At the moment this is what it contains:

Conrad Johnson MV-45 power amp
Anthem Pre-1 (wonderfully retubed last year from Ernie's stash) - excellent inboard phono stage
Denon DP-80 - Audiocraft AC-400C - Technics EPA 250 arms
Redboy SUT
Bottlehead Seduction phono pre (also thanks Ernie)
Dynalab FT-101A tuner
Denon DCD 1520 CDP (as transport)/Channel Island VDA-1 DAC - VAC-1 power supply
Reference 3A mm de Capo speakers on Target stands

A couple of weeks ago I got a Luxman 5L 15 integrated from John VF (deepest thanks, John) and I've paired it with a pair of Yamaha NS-1000mm mini monitors as an actual desktop system. The Luxman is amazingly good, to my ears the best "classic era" integrated I've heard and I owned some really nice ones already. I've got the speakers mounted on the wall behind my monitor and the whole thing sounds pretty marvellous. I've used the system mostly for streaming audio and it has been a joyous revelation. It also means I can listen to my favourite FM station (through their stream) without wasting tube hours in the process.

Posted this picture already - but like @fiddlefye my home office system has a @Redboy SUT:

Cheap little faux tube amp that does a wonderful bluetooth - which allows - podcasts (Marc Maron, Joe Rogan), spotify, pandora and NPR.
